As I mentioned before, magnets can be used to enhance and strengthen the flow of chi, and thereby make the etheric body stronger. It has been shown in many studies, that by placing a small magnet, north side facing up, under a seed in soil, that seed will not only germinate and grow faster, but it will grow bigger as well. The opposite is true of using the south pole of a magnet. The seed will simply not germinate and grow; rather it dies and rots in the soil. So, our conclusion drawn from this illustration is this- the north pole of a magnet stimulates the life force while the south polarity stagnates it, causing poisonous chi to build up. Now, "how do you use magnets to stimulate the flow of chi?” you might ask? It is very simple. It is a matter of placing very strong (high gauss rating) magnets over certain points in the Grand Heavenly Cycle. Those points are as follows: the Bubbling Spring points on the bottoms of the feet, the Tiger and Dragon cavities found in the centers of the palms, and the Third Eye, which is roughly between and slightly above the eyebrows. When it comes to the Bubbling Spring points, the bigger the magnet the better, and it has to be at least 3500 gauss. I have a pair that are 1" thick and 4"x6" on each side. They are magnetized through the thickness, making one side North and the other side South, and are comfortable enough to stand on or place my feet on while seated, and are 3950 gauss. It is very important to ONLY place the north field polarity against the skin/body. If you are in doubt as to which side is north, take a compass and see which side the North end of the needle/dial points to. That side is North, as the end of the needle marked N is actually the south pole of that tiny magnet in the compass. The field actually extends out to about 24" above them (easy way to test field strength is to take a small steel nail or washer and suspend it from a piece of string, hold the magnet sideways and see how close you can get it before the magnet starts pulling on it. The depth of field is important as it allows penetration of the bones and marrow, which will be expanded on later in its importance. For the hands, one can take fingerless gloves or canvas work gloves and sew in a pocket or glue in a high gauss magnet (you want at least 12,000 gauss here and for the third eye). I prefer gluing one in with a cover over it for the fact that it will not flip over that way if you place the palms close to each other. Similarly, you can construct a simple headband or even a hat will do with the magnet in the headband, north facing the skin in all cases. Use something that is sweat resistant so it doesn't come loose with prolonged use. By using these simple devices, one can greatly increase the chi flow. This is based on the fact that certain Taoist sages found areas in and near streams that were rich in lodestone, which is a naturally occurring magnetic mineral. Lodestone, in the northern hemisphere, naturally magnetizes with the north polarity facing the surface. By practicing their chi kung in the midst of these deposits, versus other places, they found that their chi developed much faster and stronger. The reason this works, as recently discovered by medical science, is that there are minute amounts of a naturally occurring mineral known as magnetite present in our brains and in our nervous system and lymph system. The mineral seems to be present in its highest concentration in the pituitary and pineal glands, as well as the thalamus of the brain. Hence the reason I have the area for the Third Eye shaded in pale blue through the whole center of the head from forehead to back of the skull in the previous page illustrations. I personally have plans to build a 6'x6' platform (1.9mx1.9m) loaded with high gauss magnets for the purpose of doing moving chi kung and certain other types of exercises that require one to be in a prone position, and for doing acupressure/reiki work. Below are links to suppliers for the types of magnets you will need, bear in mind the larger the magnet, the more powerful they are. Size can be deceiving. I have seen certain types of magnets, that are no bigger than 2"x4"x1/2" that are capable of holding over 650 lbs. You do NOT want your finger caught between two of those snapping together, let alone the fact that those would also shatter into razor sharp magnetic shards on impact. Your finger would be hamburger. So, use caution. Also, remember to keep them away from credit cards, videotapes, computers, and television monitors, at least 4 feet from the bigger ones. The types of magnets you will need are ceramic magnets for the ones you need to stand on, I recommend at least ones as big as the ones I spoke of, and rare earth magnets, also known as neodymium or strontium magnets for the ones for the hands forehead, ones about as big as a quarter and 1/4" thick are good here, handy size and manageable in strength.
